In terms of "normal" I mean for that kind of platform... I think its structure related... If you know ProTools
you probably know about it's problems with mounting and unmounting devices... With ProTools running, you are not able to unmount any device!
ProTools just blocks this and you have tp quit or use PTs unmount feature in workspace window...
I think it's not really a showstopper to quit SFP if you are doing crazy things with your harddrives... I would quit any other programm!
