They know each other well, and improvised the parts - something to be said for that approach.
The album is certainly a long time coming - getting people to commit a week to it has been impossible.
But perhaps we can do it soon - we have our first gig in ages tonight, as Simon's just got back from Germany with a covers(!) band.
He quit the covers band when he got back - they rarely let him sing, just piano and left hand organ bass. You could say he was misused a bit, as the actual lead singer is nothing to write home about.
The upshot is, the German promoter noticed this, and says he would have Si back with his own band.
There's quite a bit of musician's "own worst enemy" syndrome

to get around in the meantime, but I would hope to be handing you a cd personally in Germany sometime in the next year.
