It works now; no clicks or pops a the lowest latency setting, and the system isn't optimized for audio; checked with one track only, though.

Thank you very much Widy. I didn't even considered the registry key you suggested...

Do you think it's a Vista related issue?

dont know .. i use win7 on an ssd ..and it rocks like hell ..never tried vista ...
vista is more or less a win7 prototype os

i also setup at low latenzy ... but if u use more than 20 tracks in reaper in combination with vst's
1 ms is to low .. and u will receive noise during asio .....

i setup 6 ms

Right, I'll check that soon.
Thanks to you all, guys. Garyb and Pollux gave me the right input and your infos Widy have been resolutive.

Sonic Core certify 5.1 x64 for Win 7 only, not for Xp and Vista. Maybe the installer didn't properly recognize the OS version for older Windows, and sets 32 bit Asio dll in the registry

Naaa... it's a weak argument :D V 5.1 x64 is intended for 64 bit systems; noone installs it on x86; why should the installer then set a 32 bit ASIO dll?

It's just strange...
