Actually with some good FFT you could probably notch out Bb or A or whatever key they're in, but the broadcast is in surround, so there additional issues getting the obnoxiousness isolated.

I may just try filtering at 233 Hertz, 466 Hertz, 932 Hertz and 1864 Hertz using Samplitude's FFT :wink:

By the way, the engineers at the Cup are using Magix Sequoia to mix/master the broadcast, so you can blame them for not filtering out the noise :P

Here's an ideal chance to save the environment!
Instead of returning the vuvuzelas to landfill why not build your own vuvuzela pipe organ
