dark voice fx

Post by hifiboom »

anyone knows an fx unit that can make a voice sound like this?

voice transform

maybe we can build something like that with modular and pitch shifting.

but it seems to be not only pitch shifting... it seems to be some kind of harmonic picth shifting.

don`t know.
any opinions?

yeah, there's some modulation involved. try a ring modulator with the pitch shift.(maybe and/or a flanger)...

that sounds like a good idea....

or maybe pitching it down two times with different amounts... and than ringmod both shifted signals together....?

I`ll try some combinations...
I think this fx sounds quite cool.

okay ringmod did not work, but a combination of pitch shifters....

try robotizing the sample with the STS-5000?
there does seem to be a flanger on it though.
also, try a vocoder being modulated by noise.

agree with minipax;
-------
i did once for a anoiuncement of a punkband on radio;

i transpose voice 1 octav down do fit in time;
and mixed with original;
a lp for cut high freq
this i feed in vocodizer syntizise with a dirty sounding synthvoice trying to play the voicemelody and spechrythm. on synth;
a reverb for sounding bigger at the end;

a fu*ing work i will never do again!

my probl. was the dirtier the less understanding;
doesnt matter on a song maybe but for an anouncement?!

good vibes from vienna

This sounds like the old effect done with ElectroHarmonix Electric Mistres at its most extreme setting.

Try a flanger at slow LFO rates and play with the feedback.
