who is using old EMU proteus 1 expander?

A place to talk about whatever Scope music/gear related stuff you want.

i'd like to know for what kind of sound do you use it... what are the best and the worst instruments of this machine? for what genre of music do you use it?
thanks!

I have the EMU module mania pack - 5 CDs containing all the sounds (as soundfonts) from Proteus 1, 2, World, Vintage Synths and Planet Phatt modules which I use with my STS4000. At $100 it was great value. I use the Proteus 1 sounds for punchy basses and the odd drum sound. The sound is a bit dated so you have to be sparing. Were you thinking of buying one?

I've the Orchestral part of that pack.
Amazing what can be squeezed into 8 MByte of samples - wiered samplerates too, but well tuned - I like them a lot.

cheers, Tom

actually, i had a proteus FX which now i have sold.
i am still looking for the proteus 2, which i think could "enter" well in my setup. instead i could not find any particular use for the proteus FX (which had all the sound from the 1 and *some*, but not all, from the 2)
