It went slower and slower till slow was nothing. I think it is realy a pitty, that John spend the ekstra money on a supposedly better host, and then he has had so much trouble with it

believe me, they're driving me absolutely crazy.

the website went down for 2 days without notice or warning. their phones are off the hook and emails to the featureprice.com support addresses all bounce.

the planetz website came back up, but i am still completely disconnected from email--- all emails to planetz.com are bouncing since last thursday. attempting to connect to my usual pop mail server gives "connection refused".

i've still been unable to reach them. i finally found that they have suddenly revised their support system - again without warning (see here: http://www.featureprice.com/support.php ) - so I entered in a new support "ticket" complaining about my email failures, and am awaiting some update...

this may be a fine opportunity to ask --- would anyone with a good server connection like to sponsor planetz on their webhost??? the site uses quite a bit of diskspace (about 2gb now), and a fair amount of bandwidth when people are downloading mp3s, etc... nicolas choukroun has volunteered to host the site from his server before, but i was a bit concerned when he told me he ran it from his house, over a dsl line.... but maybe that would be better than this??? featureprice's throughput-throttling mechanism is absolutely disastrous- as all of you have noticed. perhaps a slow dsl line with no throttling wouldn't be so bad, in comparison.

in the interim, please email me at johnzzz@pacBLOCKSPAMBOTbell.net (and remove the BLOCKSPAMBOT there)

If that is, what it takes, I too will pay 30$ a year for keeping this forum up with a good - and to John less stessfull - host.

Are you talking about 2 years of reliable hosting with 3GB space, good connections and allowed file-sharing (the devices and mp3s) for only 100-150$?

Isn't that close to being too good to be true (like the current host)?
Information for new readers: A forum member named Braincell is known for spreading lies and malicious information without even knowing the basics of, what he is talking about. If noone responds to him, it is because he is ignored.

Unless I go thru and delete a bunch of user files (which is a possibility), the 800mb storage limit is just not enough. And that's $23 per month, not per year!
