it would be useful having a CC remap device inside modular or SFP.
i enter with CC n.X and exit with CC n.Y (and same CC value)
this can be used to control different synth/FX knobs with just one controller (useful for example in modular: you can create a stereo filter and control cutoff and resonance of both channels with just one knob (either virtual, for ex. a "constant" module in modular or real - an external controller)

Going in the same way, would be even nicer if the same module could also change channel like this for example :
ch1, CC7 = ch1 cc7
ch2, CC7 = ch1 cc8
ch3, CC7 = ch1 cc9
You see the use of this for mapping any external midi controller using their default setting to control the STM1632? using presets?

i would like something like this very much too!
i would like to take it even further... a device in which you can define the (various) 'control knobs' and which (various, and sometimes the same) 'vitual knobs' will be controlled. let me explain: as a guitarist and looking at Amper, it would be nice to have a pedal board with (let's say) 10 stomp switches. you can then define which on/off switches on the SFP amp will be turned on/off by the stomp box. it's something like a simplified preset change. everyone knows it's practically impossible to use preset changes in SFP in a fluent way.
of coarse, the 'midi device' would need to have midi feedback to see which section is on or off to work in such a way.
maybe this might clarify things:
controller SFP amper
button 1 = compr on/dist on/delay on
button 2 = dist on/chorus on
button 3 = reverb on
if it would turn out to be a real nice (commercial) midi device, it would be cool to go into detail when it comes to controller settings:
turn controller knob CCxx -> in SFP various virtual knobs will be changed: ie cut off (normal), lfo rate (reverse), lfo depth (from 89 to 127), ...)
maybe a lot to ask, but i think a clever midi patch device would make things much easier/more inspiring for a lot of us.

Great idea, it could be something like a midi matrix device, comparable with the modulation matrix of Prisma. There, for example, you can assign the modwheel to several parameters.
The Result is great. In Kontakt you can assign a CC to as many parameters as you like.
In one Kontakt instrument I´ve made the modwheel influence the cutoff and resonance of a vowel filter. It sounds great.

The input of the device shouldnt have to be midi tho! Neither should the output!
I say put a layer between it. Why not contact the values in SFP directly instead of using midi ?
Would it be faster, or just as fast, as midi if:
* you read out the values of buttons/knobs/faders/etc
* wait for a controller message
* internally change the value
Talking out loud here, but if we can build controllers which send *changes* instead of values, the software could simply add the values internally (substract if its a negative change)!
Then your controller is alway insync with SFP!
Comments ?
