Hello to all!

I use Wavelab 4 and SoundForge 6 with Windows XP and I still have not found a way to setup properly these two programs for 24bit or 32bit recording.
First of all, I should say that the 2 programs behave differently to the WAV drivers. With Wavelab, I cant really understand what is going on, since with the same drivers, sometimes it lets me record in 24bit other times not... Soundforge, seems more 'stable' in its 'preferences' of drivers. With the normal 16bit drivers, it lets me record in 16 or 24 bit (however, I dont know if the 24bit recording *really is* a 24bit recording...) With the 24bit Wav drivers loaded, it lets me record in 32bit linear (not floating point).
Does anybody know, which drivers I should use for each program and for various bit depths and samplerates?

Thank you

P.S. I have also noticed that things are also dependant on the sample rate chosen and not only on the bit depth

With Windows XP, use ASIO drivers...

I use the "ASIO2-flt 64" with Samplitude Pro

Forget the "wave"/WDM drivers at least if another user will not come and gives you a good method. I gave up.

There's a problem with WDM/"wave" SFP drivers in Windows XP since the beginning of SFP...Seems that it's not solved yet...Perhaps with SFP 4?

I have a problem usind Wave 24 Bit Dest module when i try to record my master on Wavleb. I use Cubase SX with 24 bit Asio Source but if i use the 24 bit Wave dest module from the master out of the mixer to record in WaveLab in 24 bit, i got only distorted sounds.
If i record on WaveLab in 16bit it's all ok, using the same modules.
I tried also to use Asio 24 bit Dest but i can't record on WaveLab cause Cubase seems to use all the Asio input also if they are not active...
So someone has an idea on how I can record in 24bit mode?

Ok, i don't get this error, but you could easily bypass this, just record thru Cubase?

The same 2 channel you want to send to wav dest, send it to 2 unused asio2dest and record it directly in cubase, in 24bits

My WDM drivers doesn´t work neither on XP.
It´s a known problem and I think Creamware work hard to solve it.
