I want to connect the Luna Digital I/O to my dolby receiver. The Digital I/O's on the receiver are coaxial or optical, but the I/O on the Luna is a mini jack plug, so I don't understand how I can make the connection. Can someone explain how to do this?

Is it also possible to use a stereo mini jack to RCA cable?

I currently use a cable that has a stereo mini-jack in one end, and two rca's in the other.. works fine..

Can I also connect the Luna ADAT interface to the optical input of the Dolby receiver?

Yes, when you change the settings from ADAT to optical S/PDIF

any electronic supply can provide a mini phone-rca adaptor cheaply.

I connected the Luna ADAT interface to the optical in of my Dolby Receiver, but I hear no Dolby Digital sound. Can someone explain how I can hear the Dolby Digital sound?

The Luna is set to Master, but now I've set it to Slave, but still no Dolby Digital.

Dolby Digital is a standard by dolby that define some type of sound encoding like AC3 5.1... Which Luna DON'T understand... Luna can mix and transit to SPDIF a normal stereo stream, no dolby digital. You heard sound, but NOT in dolby digital.

For dolby to work you have to have a dolby source, like a dvd transimiiting directly thru the digital wav source driver in sfp then to spdif dest.

It is not because it's digital that it is dolby digital.

What I actually do is: I connect the S/PDIF of the luna to my Dolby Digital receiver. Than I insert a DVD and play it with Cyberlink PowerDVD. In the audio menu I select Dolby Digital 5.1. After selecting this option I hear no sound, although I read in the manual that the Luna is able to transmit the AC3 via the S/PDIF.

Yes, I'm Luigi at Northersounds.

What did you connect in your SFP project to your SPDIF destination?

The Left Out of the mixer to Left In of the S/PDIF Dest and the Right Out of the mixer to the Right In of the S/PDIF Dest.
I see also that there's a connection on the S/PDIF Dest called Dig, nothing's connected to this connection.

Yeah, that's what i say... You'll never get digital dolby this way...You are getting a simple stereo stream... Luna Does not encode digital dolby...

But, if you remove everything in your sfp project, i mean, everything, including the mixer... Then add the digital wave source driver, then the spdif dest... Connect those toghether... That way you'll pass non-decoded ac3 5.1 stream directly to your spdif of the Luna...

Cuz actually you are using Wave src, which are analog wav source.. So you'll have to also change the setting in PowedDvD XP...

Try that

So it is clear that PowerDvD is not transmitting the ac3 stream to the digital wav src...

There are issues with XP and the digital wav source not being recognized by software. If you look in hte readme of the sfp driver, there is a note about it. I think we should write to creamware about it...

It's a disappointment that you can't listen to Dolby Digital Surround sound via a Creamware Soundcart. I think that it should be made possible.
