I'm out of town right now, and I don't have access to my computer, so has anybody downloaded the new Sonar 2.2 update and tried it with SFP in ASIO mode? How does 24-bit, low-latency, multitrack audio work? Does it work like the WDM drivers should have all along?

Please -- I'm desperate!!!

It works..
I only use 16 bit 48khz (because I use DAT/ADAT), but the latency I get with Sonar 2.2 now is very good!
1.3ms latency!!

Only problem seems that it uses up more of my cpu-power, making my poor AMD pretty hot... But it doesn't matter..hehe

aMo,

Which ASIO modules are you using? ASIO1 or ASIO2? I'm gonna try to get it going in 24 bit mode tomorrow - any info to save some time is appreciated.

Also - does anyone know if you can you load ASIO (for SONAR etc) -and- wave devices (for apps that don't like ASIO) in the same project?

I'm using ASIO2 drivers in SFP.

I'm also using wave-modules for my WinAmp and other programs that does not have ASIO.

i thought this was normal behaviour. it's like that in cubase too, i suspect in other apps as well. the 'ulli settings' menu IS the asio control panel, not?

No , this isn't correct...
Any other soundcard (except the creamware boards,of course) have a separate asio control panel where u can setup the buffer sizes for increase or decrease the latency with more accuracy than the ully settings.

this can't be important.the ulli panel must be sufficient.

Well, I don't know what's happening, but I can't get SONAR to recognise -any- ASIO drivers. I've tried them all - 16bit, 24 bit and 32 bit. I tried ASIO1 and ASIO2.

When I remove all wave devices from my project - SONAR does not see any audio drivers. When I click on audio properties, it says "audio wdm/ks".

I'm not doing too bad with the WDM drivers, but I -must- be missing something.

aMo, what am I missing??

Has anyone got XTC mode to work in Sonar with the ASIO drivers and a DXI-VST adapter?

OK - I found out what I was doing wrong (I'm an idiot). I didn't see the pull down menu in audio settings where you select "ASIO". It works fine for me too, but the CPU usage is way too high at 1.5 ms. 2.9 ms is good, but I'm running it at 5.8ms, and it's fine with softsynths etc. You have to change the ULLI settings now, as the latency slider doesn't work with ASIO. This seems to be the way to do it....

I've used it for a while tonight and no crackles, or dropouts when it trys to loop (yet).

I miss not being able to move the latency slider - so if it's not "rock solid" I'll probably go back to WDM....
