i've been struggeling with xtc-mode for a while now. i had it working fine using only luna2 but after i added a pulsar2 things just wouldn't go my way. until NOW!
of course this applied to my system and may not be the perfect setup for everyone but xtc-mode is at least worth this 15 minutes right...

this is my configuration on a
p4 1.7mhz
256 rambus.
intel 845 chipset.
win xp pro
Logic 5.2
SFP 3.1c
Pulsar2 + Luna2
i can't remember all the tweaks i've done but they are all represented in
http://www.tascam.com/products/computer ... timize.pdf
and
http://www.musicxp.net

this is what finally hit the spot for me:

right click "my computer"-> properties-> advanced-> performance-> visual effects: adjust for best performance.
behind the 2nd flip: set processors´ priotity to background services and virtual memory, both original size and maximum size, to the same size of your actual ram. in my case 256 mb.
edit your XTCProject.pro. if you need a simple one:
http://www.planetz.com/forums/viewtopic ... forum=14&0
set the sync to slave and the ulli to the middle one. 10 7 6 3.

Now in logic since my harddrive is formatted to NTFS i use "larger disc buffer" try what works best.
"process buffer" range should be set to LARGE. i don't know if it's ram related but JUMBO brings back the crackles.
under "audio preferences", still in logic, you can choose "Plug-in delay compensation" to get rid of dsp effects latency. now i never considered that option but it actually works!!! BUT only on audiotracks. note NOT on audioinstruments, buses or master.
ONLY on audiotracks.

that's about all i remember right now, let me get back to you in case anything pops up.

FROM MY HEART AND SOUL: I REALLY HOPE THIS WORKS FOR YOU TOO!!
Good luck!
Andreas
