if someone are recording some new age songs... i'm asking some beginner advice.. which pulsar synths do you think are most useful in these genre of music??
i'm thinking about "spacious pads" or sweet leads...
i want to make some new age tracks, and i'm beginning to collect useful sounds

Zarg family of synths ( http://www.zargmusic.com/ )are the best for this purpose - the Rotor 48 is the cheapest yet very good! Also look at the Saturn ( http://www.planetz.com/forums/viewtopic ... 9&forum=16 ) freeware synth
Sir I'd suggest Celmo's Supreme, Deep Blue or BassmanIII. They are all different, yet have similar rich delay and chorus modes. You can get a beautiful feel from them. From memory you might try the Ondine (bassman) & Bladerunner (deep blue) presets in the demo versions. The sounds you might be after are not really in the presets list but are waiting in the device to be tweaked out

I agree with Saturn too. Others that spring to mind are Uknow 007 and the Minimoogs.
It does depend on the "New Age" style though. Some are spacey - like Jonn Serrie.
Others are more minimalistic and perhaps only piano/guitar based, similar to Lanz & Speer and others on Miramar label. "New Age" has been given many interpretations.
I've found that the secret is ample use of sustain and soft tones with slow attacks, especially for strings and perhaps a soft fender rhodes. This was the combination that I used in Blood Red Sky which I posted some time back.
There also needs some movement at lower registers else the deep pads don't quite carry. The Vectron Player and the Uknow have some good patches and are easy to tweak too.
Off the top of my head - Lonely Pulsar patch in the 2nd bank of the Vectron Player, played between C1-C2 gives a nice moody backdrop without encroaching on the main body of music.
