Please help! Secondhand Harddiskrecorder - Which one to buy

This is actually a request from a friend of mine. He is looking for a secondhand harddiskrecorder, but he don't know what to look for or look out for. So the question is simple: He needs a HD-recorder and he's got around 700-750€ burning in his pocket. Which one should he buy? And which one should he diffinately not buy?

I would recommend a Yamaha 6x4x16 SCASI, its very cheap cos it’s relatively old and it rocks! I own one of them and it’s a very good recorder I can tell.

Could you please give me some more detailed info about that HD-recorder, like how many track can be recorded at the same time, and at what samplerate/bitrate. How big are the HD and so on
