Hi guys! In "Problem solving" I described my problems when recording guitar/vocals in XTC mode(see <XTC sounding better?>). Performance AND sound is much better in XTC (see thread) in my case. Problem with latency when recording remained unsolved.
Now I found something to record without (!!!)any latency. Forget "direct monitoring" in SX. What I did: I routed my ADAT input from A-16 through the old DYN-BUS(1) then to ASIO dest. I found that this DYNBUS pops up when SX is started in XTC-mode.
Then I routed this input also directly to the (monitor) output via another DYNBUS(2) that also gets the output from SX ASIO. Both Dyn-Buses pop up when starting SX! And guess what: you can insert comp. or other effects into the DYNBUS(1) when recording vocals or guitar and you can for sure control the recording (input) volume while in XTC-mode! Crazy, isn't it? 0 latency while recording guitar in XTC-mode!
Here's the chain:
First, open XTCPROJECT.PRO in SFP
ADAT A source->DYNBUS(1)->ASIO2 24 -DEST AND DYNBUS(2) 3/4 -> CUBASE SX (press record for level control, not monitoring)->ASIO2 24-source-> DYNBUS(2), CHAN.1/2->Analog out for monitoring via speakers.
I tested it with the new CHANNEL or DYNAMIXER: no work! Only DYNBUS works!
Have fun!

I can only find Dynbus.pep and Dynbuschannel.pep files. No Dynbus device though.
I did some experiments w putting mixers in the XTC project, I thought the Mastermixer worked to mix Wav and ASIO sources, in XTC mode.
[edit]Btw, the devices would initially pop-up, but once closed there's no more access to their GUI. Midi remote remains though
CW really needs to bring some light to this XTC thing...

Sorry... did I miss something? A'm facing the same known problem (no MIDI signals in XTC mode) with my LUNA-II card since I switched over to WIN-XP. Know I read something about an XTCPROJECT.PRO I could not find on my computer. Where dues this *.pro file come from? I had my LUNA card running well under WIN98.
