I just want to take a poll on how much audio power threshold each one of you achieves on your system configurations.
Using an older 440BX chipset on a 100MHz FSB board, I know that I have certain limitations. Obviously, faster Procs with faser FSB should yield much more power.
PC HOST CORE:
CUBX, PIII-700MHz, 512MB PC100
SCSI:
Adaptec 29160, IBM U160 10K rpm
PRO AUDIO/DSP:
Creamware Pulsar II Plus
Creamware tirpleBOARDII
OS:
Win98SE
APPS:
SF3 3.1a
Puslar 3.01a
tripleDAT 3.06
tripleDAT 3.11b
Logic 5 Platinum
TRIPLEDAT (VIA NATIVE HOST):
Full duplex recording 16monitor/16record,
Averaging at about 48 simultaneous stereo tracks = 96 total.
Effects (tripleDAT): 4 - Room Simulator, Limiter, 4 band EQ, spectrum analyser.
TRIPLEDAT (VIA PULSAR):
Approximately the same performance.
Project Components: Only tried 1 MV, stereo overdrive, 2448 Mixer console, ADAT S&D, triplDAT S&D, Pulsar analogue S&D = 36% DSP
LOGIC 5:
Still in the learning stages...
(Will post as progess ensues)
I'm particularly interested with Logic & Cubase's audio performance.
Thanks!
