Loading Devices over other devices crashes my PC

I've downloaded a bunch of demo devices to test and I find that when I switch from one to another using the Live bar my PC crashes and restarts. So far this has only happened on demo devices (and I suspect they may have been originally written for 2.x software).
To be or not to be. What was the question?
