Well, reading about the thread on “Making a Living” and after trying hard doing some Dance music to fire myself into it, just thought, concerned about earning some money to get a living out of music, that there may be lots of people in the same situation than me, i.e. with no money and willing to get deeper into the music business.

I'm thinking particularly about those who have been around for some time… who have been musicians and composers for ages and want to pull out some benefit. I'm not talking about being reach, or dreaming awakened about a golden future, I'm being absolutely realistic and pragmatic about that:

A Forum to talk about how to make some money out of our Pulsar systems to being able to upgrade, from time to time, our equipments, for being able to get some clothe, shelter and food, that's it!

I know that in the Internet there are many sites and philosophies about what you should do and not to do to get into the music business, but not at our place, which is PlanetZ. I would personally like it in here, at PlanetZ. Just and idea.

A forum with techniques about the process of selling your staff, new ideas, your experiences, strategies about how to introduce ourselves into the production process. Sharing what we could do to actually get there. I don't think it would be detrimental to any potentially engaged person already working in the music business, I don't think you should worry saying somebody else is going to take your work cos you show your tricks here... We are at very different places of the world and so, different regions too. Up to you to share or not to share, to be or not to be…

It could be something like: “How to get into business with our Pulsar System”, or similar. What do you think?

Actually, a new forum might not be such a quick solution.. so why don't we just walk on over to the pulsar creativity forum, and start a thread there?

Actually, I'll start one talking about my experiences, and then many can post their own experiences. Reading about how others got into the business (or getting into the business) can be very inspiring and reassuring. Hope this can help.
So, see y'all in Pulsar Creativity.

Wouldnt like to mix them together. I would like a place to open MANY threads, not just one with some experiences. But to get it as a whole something to learn about, I don't think this is a simple matter you can achieve in a single thread. I think it's a matter that deserves a forum to itself cos it's complexity.

I am fully for this. I will be on the outside as an amateur, but I see it as a natural idea in this friendly place, that people across country lines can tell, how bussiness went today, how they got this deal (and maybe not that).

http://www.taxi.com seems a nice place to get started commercially. It's a place like z, totally free, where musicians gather not only because they do music. What unites the people from http://www.taxi.com is they wanna sell it. They point out demo and marketing stategies, give hints on how to approach possible producers or labels etc. etc. I'm not into that selling stage, but I think the people at taxi do a great job.

Check it out!

huh.. now that I made my post about $$ in Pulsar Creativity.. I kind of understand what Nestor is saying.. I have a feeling I put my hands on some thing too big, it won't fit in that forum... hehe. Actually, it's probably so big, you'll have to start a new board just for that.

But anyway, I'm just worried because this type of knowlege becomes of great value.. it's kind of different from usual "I found a neat synth trick" kind of knowlege. The merit is more rigid, and thus a question of responsibility and profit, rights.. blah blah. Things can get complicated. It's probably best to keep everything anonymous, keep everything generic.. so as to keep the focus on sharing knowlege, not connections, "real" locations, phonumbers.. etc. It's going to attract a bunch of unwanted attention that might cause some turmoil.. It might be cool, but I'd be worried. Anyway, just to point out that there could be a certain amount of risk in starting such a forum, and if such a forum starts, would have to be under tight rules.

Sincerely I think I like so much music because music can talk directly to human souls: I'm also very interested in human being, often more in people using Pulsar than Pulsar itself.(for me there's no a big difference between music & philosophy)
I read somewhere other people proposing a "Coffee Room" forum where talk about wider things around music between us pulsarians, this might be the place where exchange also these experiences, help each other...
I miss an artists (but true artists) entourage

You've made a serious point there Ken! And unfortunatelly I agree with you... It's true, cos money sometimes brings unwanted aproches to life and unwanted people ,too... Well, should it be a private forum tho?

I just want to know how to... that's all. But I would never like to transform Z into a sort of a business forum really, NO!!! There are good and bad points to think about, and I see yours being important. Let's see what others have to say...

hm, I don't see so mutch in this.
To mutch talks and talks.
Why not making a new song, see how far you can get him, than try the next song, etc.
Than you will learn more about everything than exchange all wild and to personal ideas here in a special forum
There are so many books on this topic, so many magazins paying attention to this.
May be it's to early in the morning to me, but I would say lets work and make music!
Just my opinion.

ouaou.are we professional and artist?artist or professional. That means to do money with the sound you create. It could be a very long talk.I believe that if you progress yourself ,your own vision becomes reality so....i think that in plus of the normal way to use the pulsar tools, Pulsar instruments are only waiting to be used in a way that "public" feel that there is somethin revolutionnary hehehe or differrent in our compositions. In that way pulsar becomezz a dream tool to create(personnaly i'm really far of that kind of level).
I hope to see u in "the bilboard charts" or somethin like that nestor:)

Actually, we could have a forum where we can post commercially used tunes and such, just so that we can know what the planetz members are up to. Right now, tunes in the music forum are mixed.. some commercial, some experimental, some just plain personal. We could just take the commercial ones out, put them in one place. The detailed info can be discussed on a personal scale if interested through e-mail etc. That sounds ok to me. But also, this sounds exactly like what the music forum is meant for.. dunno, just a possibility.

Usually the commercial tunes in the music forum are pretty obvious, and it's more than easy to write e-mail to the person if you have a question. That could be an easy solution.
