Perhaps it would be good if we could have ONE true optimise thread free of all other comments and suggestions?
It would be a locked thread set permanently at the top of the tips&tricks forum. Only when a tip was specifically shown to be 100% accurate would it be included.
This would then be the uncluttered, single and authoritative reference source rather than multiple pages full of mostly useless comment.
Of course someone would need to "adminster" the post to add "approved" optimisation techniques.
Just a thought.
Organising the "optimising tips" info
* They're very long but 80% of the posts are irrelevant
* It would be better if they "stuck" at the top of the forum
* they don't contain all the tips. For example, some of Sandrob's tips, but at present it would be a bit redundant just to add them
* the xp tips are mixed with Win2000
This is not criticism, just a minor suggested enhancement

I think your point is relevant. I'd appreciate to have all the crucial info at a glance and know that it's updated regularly with the latest info.
It's really nice to have the info as it is, but it might make it clearer to even have an "optimize" independant section with all we need to know (or most of what we need!) to optimize, tweak and update our OS, chipset, bios, etc. This section would be for consultation, and would permit the CW community to access a list of test-proof tweaks working in our environment.
Spirit is right, the info is kinda scattered here and there with lots of more or less relevant comments...
Nice suggestion, Spirit!

Yes, a few sticky threads in each forum would be ideal.
Who cares if most of the posts below are irrelevant? I pull any relevant information from the posts and add them usually... if I find they are essential to getting your Creamware working. If they aren't, then they are optional (but probably still useful) to those who chose to read the entire threads....
I also think the Problem Solving area should have a sticky thread with "Read this before posting" and list items people should include in their desparate "HELP ME!" threads such as OS version, motherboard brand/model, etc - basically the same form you're supposed to fill out when you contact Creamware support (you can find it in the Support section of the manual). This would save a lot of time and I've found often times when I need help, start spelling everything clearly out, that I find my own solution...

Yup would be nice to have some introduction or fixed topic on some places. I've noticed most of the info is all here, but people don't take/have time to go through them.
You also make a difference between 'Advisory' and 'Optional' Tips'n'Tricks. That's quite important. I've noticed people, and I understand cos it's a long write, say they applied all tweaks.
Now some tricks are really required for us, working with DAW and more important Pulsar. While other are good for the OS but might harm Pulsar DAWs.
It would be nice, for troubleshooting, to see what setup people are running. A basic form (or addition to user profile) will make things go way faster on the TroubleShooting forum.
Should the optimisation topics be in the forum? I'm not sure about that. John's made a page w some advanced tips and tricks, which are not short back-and-forwards between different users but rather clearly ordered, into depth essays over a specific topic. Written by one person, who took the time to make a clear oversight. Subhuman is one of the contributors, there are many more. Although I like to help people out, I couldn't write such essays :/ -need some more maturity

So many things to explore... there's so much on this planet, but most of it is the forums, as most of us know it. The forums are most live, updated regular often. Too bad some of these articles get outdated.

ps I don't find the 'z articles' no more!?

he, he... i don't have "my tips". i just add tip what i found on some other place on net and what is major optimatisation tip for working in cubase. it was imposible to use cubase without this tweaking. On 2002-03-29 22:57, Spirit wrote:

but in instalation and others i just follow subhumans directions!

i make for my self one "tweakings compilations" but i'm not inovator - just compilator.
