this solved serious click issues in win11 with several sequencers, it will probably help in other OS.Please find the settings that were changed in the Nvidia Control Panel :
1.Open NVIDIA Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings.
Find Power Management Mode and change it from "Optimal Power" to Prefer Maximum Performance.
2. Enable Ultra Low Latency Mode: Open the NVIDIA Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > Global Settings. Set Low Latency Mode to Ultra.

Yes, that will stop it from changing power states.
There used to be a NotebookPC something or other forum that would mod the drivers to reduce a setting that is the equivalent to the PCI priority setting we used to tweak in the XP (and Win7?) era for the Scope PCI cards benefit. I don't see the forum any longer, and guru3d forums show little discussion about that now.
Another fix is to use more than one monitor, this will keep the card from going into the lowest power mode although it will still switch between low power 3d & high power 3D so your above method is still the best at taming it.
The issue? The videocard makers set the GPU drivers for max gaming FPS and give it a setting equivalent to the highest PCI priority setting (it steals all bus bandwidth, so a state change will stall everything on the bus while it changes).
