I plan to install a PowerSampler card on a beige G3/333 MHz Macintosh.

I would like to know if this kind of configuration will offer a good reliability and enough voices, especially if I record the sound in Logic Audio.

I'm also interested to know about successful G3 configurations with Luna (I/II) or Pulsar cards.

Thank you for helping.

Best,

Amundsen

be carefull! i remember reading something about B/W G3 being minimum specifications, but i can't remember wether it was for pulsar or digi001. it was in a computermusic soundcard special about two years ago.
i have B/W G3 450Mhz with pulsarII and it works fine.
inform yourself properly before buying.

I think it was for the Digi001. One of my friends tried to installit into a beige G3 but nver managed it to work. So he had to change for a G4.

Have you used any of the STS samplers on this card? How did it work?

Hi, I tried my Luna card on my previous comoputer (G3/266) and it worked quite fine (no visible differences between my current comp G4/400). The only disadvantage of the beige G3 for CW cards use is lack of AGP (video may conflict with Luna data stream). Luna/Pulsar GUI is very demandin: my 16MB ATI rage fury card works very slow especially when dragging windows and it was a nightmare on the G3. I'm not sure but AirPollo tried his Pulsar on G4/733 or so with rather similar effects (slow graphic, Geforce card)

If you must use the G3/333, install Luna soft on 8.6 OS - it's the most stabile system available for you/luna (forget 9.x, they are not so stabile but I chave no choice on my G4). OMS 2.3.7 is a must and get rid of Multiproccessing folder found in Extensions folder of System Folder (remove it manualy because the Extensions Manager don't see it)

Did'nt the 333 mHz model come with a SCSI UW2 card?
That is on the PCI bus as well, so you should probably loose that card.
Creamware cards needs lot's of PCI bandwitdh.
