So a couple of months ago I bought my 8yr old a launchpad mini for his birthday.
He hooked it up to his android tablet but due to it's limited functionality with that platform he quickly grew bored with it.
So I decided to research a little about it and see if he might be interested in using it on his computer with Ableton Lite.
Anyway, after looking up things on You Tube I have discovered that there seems to be a growing interest in the production of something called a "launchpad cover"
My first impression: WTF!!!!!!
Correct me if I'm wrong but it seems that these kids are simply splitting a commercially produced song into several different clips and laying out a splendor of different color patterns while they sequentially load each section of someone else's song?
Do I have this right or am I missing something?

Re: Launchpad mentality
Consider it modern mans air guitar
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.
