Is there any simple module.... 2 stereo inputs to 1 stereo output???
NO switches, nothing else.. so to be DSP light!!

I've got the most simple "MIX S" and "MIX M", not even any gui ! But it lowers both signal input of 3db, I believe.
Don't remeber where it comes from !

Those were the ones I thought would work too.

yea.. thats nice guys..
but can the -6db issue be easily fixed in SDK?

GaryB, the dynamix mixer works for that.. but I need about 7, 8 instances... so it is very DSP consuming + I need only 2 to 1 STEREO
Actually I want each STM mixer channel I use to have the 2STEREO to 1STEREO before the input, in order to be able to audition the sequenser through asio always in the same channel.. THIS way you can still mix in SCOPE .... I used to rerout to another channel of STM mixer, but I found that it was very confusing at the end, remembering all the STM mixer settings, copression, eq etc...
A SIMPLE EXAMPLE
Minimoog plays in STM2448 mixer channel 1.
- Compression on
- Eq on
-AUX 1 (Materverb) on
If I record this to a sequenser .... then sequenser sends throu ASIO.
The best way is to audition again from within channel 1.... So you continue tweaking the already tweaked paramaeters if needed.....
P.S. I connect the MINMAX to STM ch1. And also minimax DIRECTLY to ASIO dest channel1(NOT THROU DIRECT OUTS OF STM)
So...
STM channel 1... you PLAY MINIMOOG and also can audition MINIMOOG within the same channel
Thats why the 2STEREO MERGER IS NEEDED
1.L/R from Minimax 2.L/R from Asio Source(recorded minimax) to channel 1 of STM mixer

too complicated for me.

actually, it is to make, because scope channels do not have 2 stereo inputs(1 for play a synth and another for asio source)
but after you work easier. it is just like creating a monitoring capability(connectivity to the daw) of a scope mixer.
much more convenient than auditioning recorded waveform of the synth from another STM channel..
when I play now minimoog for instance and change ..lets say..the STM Channel eq, or Compression attack.. I dont have to change it to the other STM channel that would be sent from the asio source(DAW)... now it is sent to the same channel.. and settings eq,com, aux, are there !! boom

gotcha. i get what you are doing, i think you might want something made in the SDK with switches.
by the way, mixing a lot of stereo sources is the best way to enter phase cancellation hell. i'd use most sources in mono, personally.

garyB, thanks
but about cancelations,,,, dont happen because you use the channel either for play, or playback of daw.

about swiches... I dont think so, because the idea is to be able to listen and play.. without setting(preparing) a channel,
this way it is easy. the channel plays what you give. the synth.. or the recorded synth

the advice of mono, yes, I believe you are right.
yesterday, i started useng RDDRUM stereo outputs in mono.... much clearer sound.
mono is better in mixing, after you create the stereo field with panning of each source

Peters auto switch works great.
Accepts MIDI CC for switching channels too.

JoPo, thanks man,
I use them already and also did a dsp test... in a 20 DSP PCI system these swithes inrease the dsp meter for 1 bar after 30 instances. better than the 4x4iroute I was using before, that increases the dsp meter 1 bar after loading 10 instances of it.
also about the 6 db difference, I rase the STM CHANNEL input gain for 6.0 db. and it is ok(actually better also because the raised gain reminds me of where I have connected the audio mergers.

that is how it's been done for years. the recording/mixing process has not been improved for 50 years or more. really. some of the tools have become more convenient, but the process is the same.

perhaps it would have been even better if scope synths could be released in mono as well.
in fact a guitar is mono, and moog was mono

gave them a try but, NO.. switch to either source1 or source2. + much DSP consuming because of graphics and gui I dont need
"MIX S" and "MIX M"
these simple ""NO gui(almost 0 dsp)"" mergers JoPo uploaded, are great. (except the 6db raise you have to make)

synths in stereo are for panning fx like chorus....
