I'm playing back 16 channels of audio with Cubase through my Pulsar II and needed to add another channel or two.

Seems I can increase the number of channels within Cubase, but as the Big Mixer only takes 8 Stereo inputs via ASIO drivers, I had to rout channel 17 & 18 into an existing bus (in Cubase via the Monitor mixer) between 1 - 16.

Doing so introduces some distortion and crackles into the system. When I mute that channel, it clearly goes away. Seems one stereo bus does not like an additional signal pumped through it (which somewhat makes sense). If that's the case where do I rout those two or extra channels.

I tried routing the signal from ASIO channels 17 & 18 into a regular channel input (non-ASIO input), but that did not seem to work.

Cubase is also not choking, the performance meter says it's OK without overload during playback.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Subject: Cubase Channels

well my suggestion is not a solution yo the problem but a walk besids it , you can record 8 channels to audioand than delete them and replace the other channels and like that you can go on and on , i know it's not perfect solution but i use it each time i'm running out of dsp (and that's happnes a lot).
