Realtek audio driver / Windows 7 64bit

Post by fidox »

I'm gonna sell my old configuration to my friend.
I had there creamware cards before, so i didn't bother much about onboard sound chip.
Yesterday i was trying to install realtek onboard soundcard, i have an old cd for my motherboard, where i have just winxp driver.
So, i searched the net, downloaded few different versions of drivers, also supported win 7 32/64bit, vista, win8 ....
But , no matter which driver (setup) i tried, also tried installing manualy, soundcard is not recognized.
Is there any other suggestion i can try ?
Has anyone had the same situation ?

Thanks :)

go to the motherboard manufacturer's site and download the correct driver for that model. otherwise, you can only shotgun it. by using google, you may be able to find exactly which chip was used. then you can find the driver for that chip. there are a number of them, but the number is still finite.

Thanks garyb.

That's an DFI Lanparty motherboard and not supported anymore.
It's ALC885 codec and also tried drivers supported that model, still no luck.

I remember once i and my friend had problems installing proper realtek driver for one laptop - win 7 64bit,
we tried a lot of different drivers, also for vista and it works,
that was few years ago.
but like you said ...
