French Actors Are Bolting From France

Post by dawman »

Some Actor became a Russian citizen to avoid the 75% tax and now my old fave Briggette Bardot is trying to leave as well, that is sad. I hope I can still see her re runs.

How can these French role models be so ungrateful.....?

They didn't act in those movies,...the Government did.. :D

in the news it's always misleadingly reported that the highest tax rate in France is 75%.
However in France you have a tax system which devides your total incomings over different boxes all differently charged.
The richer you are the more boxes you fill.
75% is the rate just for the part of the income sitting in upper level box, in which case you have nothing to complain about as in that case you're very rich already...

Gerard Pardieu is now Russian citizen, but lives he lives in the French speaking part of Belgium, close to the French border... :D

There's some talk of Jean Michel Jarre moving to London too.

They should have moved here. Had a few 25,000 USD per late Dinners for the protectors of the little people, then wait until the first tax bill for the middle class comes along and attach new Film Credits for the Hollywood elite.

For their millions of cash for the election, they got back 10 times that amount in tax relief for their investment. That's a good ROI (return on investment) and now MGM/United can afford the elite Movie Stars 80 Million dollar per film prices.

I mean where else can our young girls see their favorite gals beating up and shooting so many stronger men, and having other stars blowing up everything and killing dozens of bad dudes except for the multitude of video games.

Maybe Obama and the protectors of the little people can set up a French Actors elite tax relief program, and we can pay them half of what our Hollwood elites get.
The French guys will get rid of their evil wealthy elites, and we can see some new role models urinating in public drunk, and other types of acceptable public behavior.

Thank God we have Sophie Marceau still.
!5 years ago I would have never thought Europeans would be migrating to Russia to escape their Governments. Truly historical. Perhaps the others will be hung in public, or we can bring back the Guillotine.

Off with their heads I say.... :x

Artists in Ireland are exempt from tax, since early 80's. Last year, given our woeful deficit, that was capped to 40k euro..

Right on. God needs to chill somewhere, especially now with all of these Ancient Alien Series on the History Channel, he never gets any quality downtime.

Here in the USA he would get no peace as the Federal beast needs cash for their spending addictions, and they know that God has a serious Gold Stash, which could refill the empty vaults at Fort Knox.....

We are still trying to recover from finding out he wasn't a white dude.
That was a moral blow to the southerners where tax free exemptions created the Bible belt.
Even our black Baptist Reverends were shocked to find out he was of Indian blood, not the Dots but the Tommahawk version. We'll be OK in due time.

I invested in Totem Poles in hopes of becoming a 1%'r. I do not look forward to the concept of shared misery the commoners are faced with.

God doesn't exist because Stephen Hawkins said so. And even if he did, Hawkins still pays more taxes than god. God wouldn't pay wheelchair and cylon voice tax for starters.

And since all money comes from the big bang, it proves economists wrong who say you cant get something from nothing.

The whole bang lot came from nothing so there !!!

... and I've been of course misleaded before your clarifying post. 75% was looking kind of an excessive amount.
Being the things as you say it could even sound like... act? shamming? ...how can I say?

I just heard though it was the 90% in USA since the thirties; the 91% till Reagan age.

It was 90% on 250,000 and over, for years before and after WW2. Then evil wealthy greedy elites destined to enslave the minorities and non royalty whites, bribed the politicians to lower their tax burden and this practice is more evident than ever before.
We like buying our Presidents, Congress and Senate. My AFL-CIO dues exempted me from the Repeallable Health Care Act, where early deaths from long wait times are suppose to get rid of these costly unproductive elderly fossils.

It's easier to purchase them then to be attacked from the Bully Pulpit. Right now the elites are suffering, but they will make sure to pay off the far right Crime Family, better known as the GOP. We will see new Presidents and other Royalists blaming Obama and the wealthy Liberals, so the cycle can repeat itself again. And the Sheep Shall Cheer.

So in 2016 the evil fat cat CEOs will buy the new laws, just like they always do, and they can help feed the iPhone 5 Poor folks we have, and hopefully leave us working folks alone, as I grow weary of their scams, but if they would just get the fuck out of my wallet and bedroom, even my Kitchen table, I would be happy.

I really dont make that much money and just think that since these folks want so much control, and can easily buy the politicians, let them be.
And don't even think about taking my Cheeseburgers as Al Gore is on my side, and if I want a 240 Ounce Diet Coke, and have prostitutes feeding me Grapes so I can pretend to be an elite, so be it. Get the fuck out of my affairs, just go recruit some more poor iPhone 5 welfare recipients as they need Kings and Queens to worship.

I need to be left alone and I promise to send them my protection money.

@ Cochise: Well, in extended newsshows with guests and so on the real story is told more often, that's why I know, but in the real news shows they don't mention it when referring to the tax level.

IMHO, one cannot ask for redistribution of the wealth as there is always more poor people (as everyone ask for on ... tv) and being against heavy taxes for very rich people. Wealth is not infite, it's a bit like clear water : if one or two people monopolyse much more water than they need, there is much less for the others.

In France, 75% tax is only for the very rich, when you get 10M€ a year, you keep 2.5M€ for live, isn't it enough ?? I'd love to pay 75% tax !! The 7.5M€ the state takes from you, what is it for ? A woman who lives alone with here 3 childs will get some financial help, for example. Yes, we pay a lot of taxes but hospitalization is free, school is free, we have good roads, bridges ... etc ... Currency of France is ' freedom equality brotherhood ' and equality means that everyone has to have about the same chance when his life starts. That's why we cuted king's head in 1769. The king's children was not equal to other french child, from far. Now, they are reducing succession taxes, yes, maybe we have some heads to cut again !

[quote="dawman"]It was 90% on 250,000 and over

So in 2016

I dont believe you have understood everything here.
This actor is not good at all, so his money is probarbly only half what he got a few years ago.
Also I dont believe the numbers here.
In Sweden here we are known to have the highest taxes in the world for workers .
Thats around 32 % , but for small business its 57 %,
but If you have high income , its more.
One thing is missing here.
If you put all your money in the Stockmarket here in Sweden,
you dont have to pay taxes for them until you sell the Stocks.
When they are sold its only 25 % of the profit.
So if you wait 5 years before selling them , its 5 % for each year in tax then.
I dont think its different in France than in Sweden.
57 % for small business like here in Sweden is a little bit high though.
This actor going to Putin , is like a really bad movie.
The former Russian president Medvjedev was appearing on the dance floor,
performing his own disco dance.
We could ask them to do that.
All three together

I think they should stop lying to everyone in the world and just not tax them and show them what they really make. Have the Governments control the wages so you get less.

It doesn't look very appealing, and knowing this, it's easier the have the Sheep content with the false reality of having a decent wage.

In the end, the ruling class will take this money and try to give the appearance of income equality by providing services for every peasant, not quite the salary of Kings/Queens and the ruling class.
But they will bow to the ruling class for creating this fair society, they themselves do not adhere to, that was designed for the peasants.
It becomes a shared misery, or sacrifice, but the riot control tactics have silenced the majority.

We love to pretend we are free, it makes us feel a sense of strength, but the world has always had Kings and Queens.

The USA was actually free for around 75 years, but the ruling class was slow to develope.
Now we are slaves, but we are well paid slaves, and even that is starting to erode as the idea that a family with income of 250k is rich, is just more DC elites deciding that lies benefit them, and all peasants must share the misery equally. But for their "public service" they must get more since they knew what was best for the yearlings.

Maybe , but you have more freedom than in Europe,
at least in Detroit ,Chicago and New York , but thats just my personal opinion.
Los Angeles seems to be different , but I still like the Beach Boys
