the highats have like a crazy sheen on them that's piercing. Like too much 8-9k or something. Actually, it may be the whole mix. The bendy mute bendy lead+synth part and the sampler+909 clap part also has some piercing highs. The voice is good as is I think.

I wasn't sure about what the sudden arrangement changes meant, but I guess they're meant to be abrupt. Not sure what the desired effect is. For me it was like, 'oh, I guess he just wanted do this/that and did it'. But I wasn't sure why those sections were there and arranged the way they were. (musical rationale) They just sort of happen and then go away.

Yes, Zappa was an influence for sure. Which probably gave rise to the abrupt changes, which were supposed to add to the 'slap-stick' feel.

The hi-hats etc. - could be right - maybe too much highs - will reduce thanks for the tip. THis could be a candidate for the Scope SBC !

Concept - overall is just a parody of some adds/attitudes from the time the song was first written ( mid-80s ). I remember there was UltraBrite toothpaste which was supposed to boost confidence. But some dudes seemed to exude confidence without using this toothpaste so we thought they must have been using something else....'UltraWank' ... which is probably synonymous (in a less complimentary fashion) with what they call 'The 'X' factor' these days.
