asio workload

Post by nextwave »

hi, :P :D

in nuendo 4 and cubase 5 the asio workload is very high when i use plugins like soundtoys or spectrum works
no vst instrument running - only one of those insert effects in an audio track
it`s crackling all the time
audio priority in nuendo 4 + cubase 5 = boost
in wavelab 6 no problem

pulsar 2 plus
scope 4.5
44.1 khz
latency 3 ms
winxp prof sp3
nuendo 4
intel quad core 3ghz
motherboard asus p5q3
ddr3 ram 3gb
seagate barracuda 7200 sata

thanks

those plugins are what is causing the high resource usage. Scope is not involved.

that's how it is. the best plugins sound the best because they use considerable resources to do their job. that's one reason to use dsp fx.

perhaps there are newer updates of those plugins that are more optimized....

move up on latency from 3ms.
Latency is not all about cpu and ram, its also about transport bus speed and bridge preformance.

:-?

it's possible that there are settings in the computer that may improve performance.
