Zarg Bundle ... and SCOPE 5.1 / XITE issues

Post by jksuperstar »

I wish Adern Flexor was part of the sale. So, I'm looking at Zarg instead :)

The Zarg bundle, which includes Solaris and everything looks like an incredible deal for ~$500 US (Revolution Day - Jan 10, 2012). But is there any word from John that he'll fix the things that need updating for XITE/SCOPE 5.1? Any word if the problems have been fixed in SCOPE 6 already (like the sequencers, etc?)

I'd love to get the bundle, but I don't usually buy something based on the idea that someday it'll be fixed...I like to buy it for what it is now, and the future is just full of extra features. It's just a steal for what the bundle *could* offer...

I sent John an email a couple weeks ago, and he said that he has to find time to update and fix the synths for Xite environment.

I don't know to what extent the work will be.

We'll be hitting him over the head at NAMM next week anyways

JBowen does have his hands full, the Open Scope 6 thing might be a really cool thing, but if you jerk offs get the sound of the hardware Solaris in software I will be pissed....
That synth has no equal, nad I'd like to keep it that way...

If you joined the circle jerk, you'd be the only one with dualing Solaris' to crush the enemies and see them driven before you.

I spent quite some time comparing both SOLARIS v5.0 to SOLARIS Hardware and I suspect having the SOLARIS v5.0 running on the Xite-1 wouldn't prevent from needing the HARDWARE brother. They are no twin clone but brothers. A few things in common and many differences. At best they would compliment each other, the plug-in having some more flexible expansion features thanks to Mod expansion (Adern or Mod IV modules thanks to modular osc or modular filter) and RD insert module for RD modules and spaceF modules. The plug-in also offer some oscillator stacking features going beyond the 4 osc available on the Hardware.

The Solaris Hardware is optimized, process everything at 96 KHz, accept audio rate modulation , have new modules, have a fancy dedicated play and control surface, provide the newest modules not available anyware else ... and is a full an instrument rather than one of the piece of a tremendous virtual studio.

Solaris is updateable... Solaris will move to the next sonic stage by the time Scope threatens to even come near what Solaris is today.

Anyone see a stand alone MIDI ribbon controller yet ?

I have a triple zone old school Kurzweil Expressionmate with arpeggiator, etc.
If you want that vicious beast, let me know.
I love the way it can trigger arpeggiators etc.

Google the manual at Young Chang, and remember this is old and stable, not that new Chinese crap made by guys with guns held to their heads, while someone reads Mao's poems as they work... :P

FWIW, It already was made for Australian/New Zealand power, I bought it from a guy in Auckland. He was from here. a real cool dude. Love to hear back from him since he was a Scoper years before me..
