Would you pay for 64 bit drivers?
Would you pay for 64 bit drivers?
just a quick question... that has nothing to do with release date.
Re: Would you pay for 64 bit drivers?
You should never ever pay for drivers. They're a necessity to be able to use the hardware you paid for. Besides that, Sonic Core NEEDS to develop 64-bit drivers. 64-bit operating systems have already become the default when you buy a new computer, even for regular users. If Sonic Core wants to sell any Xite-1 they NEED to have 64-bit drivers, otherwise the whole system is obsolete. So why pay for drivers that Sonic Core is already developing in order to sell the hardware?
I'm really surprised that there are people willing to pay a lot of money for something that should always be free.

Re: Would you pay for 64 bit drivers?
i should agree with you, but as a long term user i would pay a small fee to S|C to "help" them in developing new drivers/software.
i don't buy scope plugins anymore because 1) honestly i don't need them now 2) they're too expensive for me.
so paying a little amount of money for the 64bit drivers would be OK for me, in order to maintain S|C alive.

Re: Would you pay for 64 bit drivers?
32 bit isn't obsolete, in fact in many respects it is more reliable, as less things can go wrong in a smaller virtual address space, so by no means is it over for 32 bit systems, as they can be linked anyway and synchronized in various ways.saskija wrote:If Sonic Core wants to sell any Xite-1 they NEED to have 64-bit drivers, otherwise the whole system is obsolete. Re: Would you pay for 64 bit drivers?
it would never be about paying for drivers, as the ENTIRE software needs to be written for 64bit or nothing works.
don't worry, it's closer than you think.
