Hmm...still doesn't install in Windows 7/64, probably not in any other 64 bit OS.

because it's 5.0, not 5.1. 64bit support was promised for the latter...

It was worth a try, John, I'd hoped to trick the machine aswell, though fortunately a solution does look in sight through the announcement of v5.1 which will run on Windows 64bit

back again! ;-)
Just installed VSTIM/XTC and tried to get it working as if I was a 'new' customer... ;-)
I did a 'clean' install (zipped every other installation and deleted original) on an old WinXP (P4, HT disabled). My sequencer is Live8.0.8. and I've got a ScopePro and a Pulsar2 in this PC.
Installation went alright, both cards were checked and driver for both wasn't updated since they are up-to-date.
After reboot, Scope5 started just like it should... Ended Scope, started Live 8.0.8 and Scope ASIO-driver wasn't found... You HAVE to check the 'enable XTC' tab in SFP mode to get it working, although you installed VSTIM and plugins... That could be optimized :D
After that everything worked fine... But:
- during first plugin-scan, some plugins reprted incompatible preset files (eg. E-Reflector, MastrVerb)
- Latency report is still not correct.
- 'Only' basic stock plugins in VSTIM, no optimaster, psyQ, vinco, Minimax, Profit....
- Some plugins show very big windows where the unused space is just grey (eg SL9000).
- Some parameters can't be controlled by host (eg. SL9000 no parameter at all, SB404 only a few).

So, all in all a big step into the right direction since stability seems really good (load, unload of delays made trouble before, now totally gone; every installed plugin seems to be scanned correctly) but still a long way to go... ;-)
Since the parameter control thing seems to be a bit buggy right now (coud be only Ableton Live8 problem? Any Cubase user???) I don't see a point to use VSTIM at the moment but I think it WILL work really good some day... :D

Holy s!!t, I'm impressed by VSTIM/XTC-mode.

I can load up 42 instances (including a Plate, Ambience and Chorus Delay) of plugins before reaching a fatal PCI overflow. This is without sorting to MultiFX devices.
Mind I went through 4-5 DSP optimizations, but I could just keep going. Almost taxed my three boards total 27 DSP.
This was using the stock XTCproject. Haven't edited it yet. 1024 sample buffer.

Something strange with regular mode though. I can't load up a Plate and an Ambience without problems so it has basically become unusable.

hi,

seems I joined the party just in time!

Can someone tell me what VSTIM brings compared to XTC. I am still in v4.5 as I would like to run my PCI boards with a possible Xcite (not sure if upgrading my PCI boards to V5 will allow me to use them with xcite in v5)

cheers

Are u sure mates that we can call that fake an update?
This is a joke or what?
XTC mode worx BETTER in the old version with my workaround that u can find here on Z.
That "update" it's a bullshit!!!Try to manage working with Sonar with no succes but with Cubase 5 only the stock plugins worx (except the already mentioned PSY Q,Minimax,Profit5,Six String and a lot of other....).
No one plug from CELMO worx (Celmo don't have a key protection but scope still ask for it!).
The Space F FAt series dont' work (asking for key)....what tha fuck is that?
Sorry for being so rude but after all that time i think that's the most polite way i can use talking about that fraud.
Well definitely after almost 10 years...i think i can sell all my boards...
Scope...seems like the Commodore AMiga story...a revolutionary gear in hand of a bunch of idiots!
