Hi guys, I have been using my Pulsar 2 Card on WinXP with Scope Fusion Platform 3.1 (yes I know thats old). I recently updated my OS to Vista and now my card does not work. What do I need to do? Do I need to update my software to SonicCore Scope V5? If so, how do I get the keys for this? I have sent my previous set of keys to Sonic Core Support but not heard back. Is there a place in America to purchase the upgrade software if that is what is needed?

Pulsar2 6 DSP card on Vista
Re: Pulsar2 6 DSP card on Vista
There is no driver for vista yet, that is why you can't make it work. SonicCore is working on the driver but hasn't made any release date official yet. The only real solution to your problem that I know about is to install Windows XP again and guard yourself with patience.
Soon, is the word to watch out for...

Doesn't SonicCore Scope V5 have the Vista driver? It says so on their web-site.

V5.0 does have a Vista driver...it however is a Realase Candidate...not the final.
Download 5.0 RC for PCI, send your .skf file to register (at) soniccore .de
you should get a .rgy file for the devices you currently have (minus third party devs)
The Vista driver will be installed durig the Scope 5.0 software installation.
No seperate driver installation required....enjoy~!

Scope 5 for PCI cards (as the one you have) are still "only" a release candidate, which has been released with several restrictions and some bugs. You can try it out, it might work for you, but please be aware that it is not a "finished and fully functional" driver/piece of software yet.

Yeah, that's the problem that I can't try it out even though I downloaded it. It asks for keys and my old SFP3.1 keys don't seem to work. Sounds strange that I would need to pay to use the software on Vista when it was working fine on XP.

strange?
no, most companies charge for upgrades and v5 is an upgrade. v4 had no vista driver and the v5 driver doesn't work with v4 because v5 is a complete rewrite. v5 is free if you have v4.5(which was a paid upgrade), so they're not just soaking people over and over. you can be sure digidesign would have charged twice, four times even.
it's unfortunate that you'll be charged, but the code writers must be paid. take some solace in the fact that your very old card(in computer terms) is still current and will be useable for many years to come. also, you're sure to get new devices worth more than the upgrade fee.
you can purchase the upgrade from S/C's site, or/and if you need help, pm me and i'd be happy to help make it all come together, and/or assist with technical issues.
