greetings all...

my luna's giving me shit... every once in a while upon booting up my computer i get an error message saying it can't "get the handle of the card", then another one pops up saying "can't start scope without hardware"... the only way i can fix this is by taking the card out, rebooting, putting it in, rebooting.

there has to be an easier way. does anyone know what's causing these problems?

Hi FrankieG, I think it's Bcuz of the driver version. I've had that before.

Check that you delete the driver in Devices manager, reboot, bypass the driver detection, and reinstall driver from the CD, forcing the use of the one on the cd, even if it say that older maybe be best fit.

BTW, are you using a Via chipset? This problem only happened when i had a BSOD when using a VIA chipset. There was a king of 'bios reset' after the BSOD. That caused this behavior i think.

Is windows assigning the IRQ to your card? that PCI slot should be "forced" to an IRQ in the bios, then windows will leave it alone, and not share it with anything. make sure the card s not in a PCI slot shared with AGP, USB etc.

Although enjoying the priviliege of being a mac user with no IRQ worries, I still know what is causing the problem.

The ONLY fix I know is to simply use another PCI slot, try one lower down.

I had problems like that with my Delta and PC, so I my tip helped  Good luck.
