Intermetro: A Tale Told In Voltage

Post by kensuguro »

A very synth pop sounding tune for the intermetro project. I went a little extravagant on arrangement and harmony with this one... so it might remind you of the electric orchestra, and a bit of YMO. Certainly not mainstream, but I like heavy weight arrangements. I don't think there's a place on the electro map for this type of stuff anymore.

This one I'd say is very in your face j-pop.. of the 80s. Very adolescent.

yes.

but that first synth has too much bottom. it's muddying the rest of the tune and hiding the other basses. i also think it's a little too widely detuned or chorused, but that's my taste.

also, i disagree on the adolescent part. this has that vibe to it, but it's much too sophisticated in melody and harmony to truly be bubblegum(although it could be an awesome bubblegum game theme  ).

maybe it's bubblegum on the outside and a full body bordeaux on the inside. hehe. Recently I've started appreciating the bubblegum-ness, much more than before.

It's nice to able to attach a niche' cliche' but when ideas and synths are used they are so unique that's why you have so many genres to choose from for trying to tag it with.
Guitarists are always trying to act like they have some nice new unique style, but the Guitars just seem to sound the same. With synth mixes each preset can actually envoke ideas and new names.

Nice Suite Of Songs.
