Sidechaining 4 VDAT Tracks

Post by dawman »

My group has several songs that are instrumental to give our vocalist a break, and recently I did my first Techno mix and while the group sounds good, I couldn't get the mix to sound the way I liked.
I use the SE-1X analog synth, and the good sounding 303 synth. These 2 combined sound really great but they just didn't work with the Kick drum, and the mix just sucked. After reading MD69's thread I thought I would try the Sidechaing trick in Scope.
Using the Kick Drum Bus to compress the Synth Bass Bus, and having the same Kick Drum Bus sent to VDAT it worked really well. My first Techno mix sounds great.
Can I use this same technique live by having our lead vocal sent to gate or compress the Drum Cymbals Bus?

Maybe you could try the mehdi's 3lfo device in the modulation sources of 106c??
