Sonic Core - FIX the modular preset bug!!
Sonic Core - FIX the modular preset bug!!
This bug is making things really complicated for me now, and because of this problem the whole modular is useless for the live setup I'm configuring. Up to now it worked, I was extra careful not to move any module while tweaking my presets and they were correctly recalled... Now, everything is still recalled EXCEPT the 8 input mixer which just can't remember any of its settings, no matter what I change or save or load... hmmm...
The mod's preset bug was half-aknowledged by the community, but it is real, and it is bad. I hope it is adressed in the next update.

+1
It's almost a showstopper for me.
I'd like to do a lot of experimentation with the modular, but just the sheer knowledge that the "dive into the the modular" might be in vain because of this bug keeps me from actually doing it.
Such a great tool as the Modular really shouldn't be crippled by such a bug for years!!!

I love Modular, especially when Flexor III came out, I went nuts with the beautiful patches made by Faxinadu, ReD_MuZe, and Alfonso.
But live it is exactly what Brotha' Man Petal says,...............a real showstopper.
I am still excited about the idea of using certain features of it live when XITE-1 is released.
I will try it again for sure.
But will drop it like a hot potatoe if it still acts funky when doing preset changes, etc.
I don't think anyone ever planned on Scope being used live, but the trurh is, that Scope w/ GSIF & lately ASIO 2 is more stable live than friends of mine who use that AMD / Linux based Receptor.
My firend has nightly crashes, but has the common sense to have a couple of hardware modules in a line mixer as a back up.
But his lame ass Piano module sucks stincky socks when his Kontackt based Receptor takes it's nightly dumps.

...and I have received it! Ralf sends his greetings with the instructions that we should replace the existing mdl, load the projects with issues and resave.
Enjoy.

I am unaware of what has been changed. It is possible that the wrong one was sent, but I have no way of verifying.
I'm not going to have any time to test this weekend, so I would recommend that anyone whose issues are not being addressed, email Ralf. I sent emails to support and info@soniccore.de, and got my response from those emails.

mmh..I don't have this "bug". presets recall of mix8 is absolutely ok here.
anyway, does it occur with the mix8 module I uploaded?
and: are there specific circumstances when it occurs (BIG patch, in combination with certain other modules, only in modIII/mod2...)
in other words: is it reproducable/ does it occur everytime?

I've had plenty of trouble with mod presets in the past, but it is the 1st time I encounter what I have here: only 1 module not recalling his presets while all the rest seems ok. In the past the banks refused to load saying "your presets are only X.XX% compatible..." and I was extra careful not to disconnect or change anything while tweaking my patches. In my last attempt I did not encounter such a behaviour. I'll try a few other things, but I spent quite some time creating the patch and tweaking all the presets, I'll invest that much more time into it... The bad thing is that it worked for a week or 2, and I put some serious work on my presets, and one day, the mixer stops recalling... Not good... I've ordered wolf's modular modules which will allow me to control non-mod synths from a fixed pitch-tracking mod patch... I'm frustrated because the flexor oscillators and filters are amazing.
Lima- I'll try your module and report, and possibly shroom's mod mixer if yours doesn't work...
À bientot
