Audient Mico / Slap Bass Recordings

Post by dawman »

I have finally got around to recording a friend playing his great sounding slap bass technique.

It sounds really sweet in VDAT, but I have a question.

I have Celmo's BAM, and X-Machine Channel Strip during the mastering stage and I like the sound I get, but is Dynatube's AG a better plug in?

I prefer a single plug when mastering that will allow me to make all final decisions once, w/o chaining many in series or parallel.

But I like the sound I have now. It just seems like the plugs are adding a layer of color to the sound and boosting chosen freq's instead of amplifying w/ power being added to the basses pick ups if that makes any sense.

Thanks 4 Any Input.

I've both Dynatube bass plugins and they sound sweet.. I preffer the SW to the AG, but it's personal taste.. I feel it has more "punch".

I'd be happy to process a short line of your bass with different AG/SW settings so you can do an A/B comparison with BAM (I don't have that one). PM me if you're interested :)

Cheers ;)
