That idea isn't too bad, I think! Even if there'd be no software-tranfer possible I'd buy a cheaper xite without any software which could run my own plugins. That would be a strong motivation to build a complete basis-set of plugins... although we should have that allready from all the SDK stuff on planetz...
yes. If I could transfer all my plugins to a "nude" Xite (at a lower price), the temptation would be hard to resist ! I have almost all the plugins and I am not ready to sell my old soniccore boards ... I am ready to consider the Xite if a transfer is possible (or if you can run pci boards + Xite ?) ...
Well me too. I mean i just ordered v4.5 and i have free upgrade to 5. I also have 3rd party license for other products (spl, timewroks, etc.) so now i must sell all that because when i buy xite old cards wont have any use anymore(though my friend is making scope system)plus i will have to re order all plugins again (SPL etc.).
This way i can transfer my license to a new cheaper XITE and sell (or keep) old cards without license.
p.s. this is not any kind of whining or something. Just speculation. In any case i am so impressed and i am working to buy XITe that way or another
this would be a very wise idea!
new hardware without software for old customers who already own SFP5 and a sonic core card with, maybe, 90% of the plugs sold with the xite1!
but i'm sure they are planning stripped down version like the old luna.
if there was a way to run an old card simultaneously in the same system (if xtdm is capable of doing that) the old card could act as a dongle to your plugins... (but I doubt that is the case...)

I'm sorry, but my karma just ran over your dogma.
I see - sorry mate, thought you knew something we didn't!
Best-case scenario, then, would be that it's possible to link them with a bodged cable. And to get the most from it, you'd need a motherboard with both PCI and PCIe slots - otherwise, even if it did work, you'd be limited to PCI bandwidth...
I'll let someone else fry their brand-new XITE-1 before I try it for myself though!
