Reaper's Remote

Reaper Remote is a small midi remote controller that can be assigned to any keyboard shortcut of Cockos' Reaper
Made to be light and simple, mainly for transports and a few locators.

Please download and read operation instruction on this page

It can be handy for those who want to avoid switching back/forth Scope and Reaper, while accessing some Reaper's transports and other essential functions.
- Can also be connected to spacef mixers/MultiSynths "p" out pads.

PS: thanks to Cockos Inc for permission of using the transports graphics ;-)

Don't think Steinberg will be so forthcoming on allowing Mehdi to use their graphics  .

This w/ Reaper, Multi-Synth WK4 MKII, and FB5 !!!

This is definately a synth players dream.

I hardly know where to start w/ these amazing tools.

What's Ralf Got To Say About These Masterpiece's?

I would rather suggest some form of dummy-VDAT to fool the VRCs into believing an "unlimited"-tape VDAT is hooked up to it.

That way you could slave both Cubase and REAPER via ASIO2 sync.

If my memory doesn't fail, there is such a device, probably as a MIII patch or module. It's called "sequencer remote" and it uses MIDI instructions to trigger the commands.

It's much more basic than this one, but for simple recording it works fine, unless you use SONAR 4 that doesn't allow to map these controls to MIDI instructions

I still have the "sequencer remote" in the Midi Folder of my Scope 4.0.

The "reaper remote" midi CC can be changed (they are totally arbitrary, as reaper does not have midi CC numbers assigned in advance to such and such function; assignment are totally free).

You can also change the name of the module in the "module name": it will change the name of the module in the project window.

Does cubase allow assigning CCs to transports and other features ?
If any other apps can receive midi CC, then the Reaper Remote can be used: just change the CC number, labels etc to customize it...
I don't have cubase 4 so i can't tell.
MAy be somone could try to find how it works, and either tell me, or make a preset for the device?

Reaper opens at least 10 times faster than Midi OX that's what i really like in this app, it doesn't clog your ram ....

in the beginning of my scope career I tried to use the 'sequencer remote' module.
It worked well, but practically it gave more eager than ease.
Like with any midi data from SFP to the sequencer, the signals are routed to the active midi track.
So for every switch to the SFP platform I had to activate the right track to be able to use the module.
That was with Cubase 5.
In Cubase SX you can route the midi independently from the active thread, which doesn't necessorely has it's midi thru activated.
So I will have a renewed look after it, as I do realize now :-)

Since I can have the basic transports above my ModWh & PB, shouldn't I be able to assign marker points to other controllers?

I have everything I need to use synths, FX, and mixers laid out tight in front of me. Having markers below my AUX and BUSS faders would be awesome.

I don't seem to need more than 8 or 9 markers when doing arrangements.

I should be able to keep my Scope window in view the entire time you say?

I like the way live bar hangs around over other applications, but I would love to have controls for the Sequencer hidden on the screen and view my Mixer that I would record with. To me, that is where the action is.

Having the space bar as stop is also very convenient. I have been reaching over to do that in VDAT out of habit now. To no avail though.

Thanks again for the thoughtfullness of your work.

This platform should be in the Guiness World Book Of Records.

If anyone has this working with cubase sx or nuendo, can they please post it here cause I can't seem to get a grasp on how and which cc's I have to use to work with these apps.

Thanks in advance.
