same cards, different software version+plugins

I made a search but didn't find anything.
What happens if you connect 2 scope cards with an s/tdm cable and the one has version 4 and some plugins and the other one has version 4.5 and some different plugins?
Can this work and what will your software version be? Can i use all the plugins?

if the two boards are connected via stdm cable you can use all plugins on both cards.
