Hardware Latency Compensation as XTC Workaround?

Post by le_tigre »

This was touched upon in the Scope + Sonar thread, and I thought it might be better served in its own topic. Do any of you use your sequencer's hardware latency compensation {found in Cubase, Samplitude, Reaper, Sonar, Live 7 {eventually} and probably most other modern DAWs} to integrate Scope, rather than XTC mode? Does it work for FX inserts only, or also synths?

How's it working out for you? =)

Edit, there's also Reaper's "ReaRoute" driver, which also looks promising:

I used REAPER like this once, and it worked pretty cool. Though in many ways I like how XTC-mode works. You don't need to switch between different windows etc.
