Progress?
Hi,
I generally take a look at these forums every 3 months to see whats is going on with Sonic Core [Creamware]. Most of my other software and hardware has had a Vista update pack or new OS updates.
Is there any hope for Sonic Core to release a Vista driver, or shall I give up on the fact and buy a vista supported Audio card?
Thanks.

I am seriously gonna have an XP system on a different machine....
But all sarcasm away about Vista downgrade OS, its here and its the standard OS for the PC will it be bad or good (mostly bad), if Sonic Core wants good bussiness PR in the longer term, I suppose Vista drivers will make it look current and active.
When I look for a new studio grade audio card in the near future, I look for future proof, the minimun is at least Vista drivers.

I half agree with you garyb, but the only difference is that the creamware cards require a computer with a compatible OS, the other examples you mentioned you mostly just plug in the wall sockets and hope after 30 years it still powers up, I cant see me in 30 years trying to find a copy of XP and a PCI motherboard in order to be able to play on the pulsar,
BTW garyb, do you still sell the "plus" plates for the pulsar II cards?

Vista is a downgrade. They implemented Digital Rights Managment in every layer of the operatingsystem, so they can control what you do. Tell you what software/drivers can and cannot be used. etc. etc.djsainz wrote:I am seriously gonna have an XP system on a different machine....

Further more you do not OWN Vista, you lease it, all rights are with microsoft and they decide what happens.
Microsoft stopped expanding their market, Vista is their way of milking it.

Gigabyte of RAM, HD and a lot of CPU power to obtain the same things that XP features for less resources!

Vista is the biggest virus on the net!!!

4PC + Scope 5.0 + no more Xite + 2xScope Pro + 6xPulsarII + 2xLunaII + SDK + a lot of devices (Flexor III & Solaris 4.1 etc.) + Plugiator.

They seems to be busy on other front...
I really don't know why Creamware (before) and Sonic Core (now) are so uncomunicative with PlanetZ community.
It could be interesting to share any future project/movement/strategies with this group of REALLY enthusiastic customers.
This brand lacks of advertising strategy and overall communication.
Why not to say i.e. WHEN and IF:
- linux drivers
- OSX drivers
- Vista drivers
- update/upgrade
- new synth
- new efx
- new BOARDS!!!
- new ASB/ASX
- etc.
WHEN & IF!!!
Please share clear with us your future business/production plan.
Don't make you frighten from the competition of others brands.
You are leader and only actor on the market with this kind of product.
Make you participate us of yours/our future.
Don't repeat the error of the CW that has brought the firm to the silence and the collapse.
Create around constant movement and chatters your job...
It doesn't care how much you will employ there to furnish new drivers and/or products, but the main point is that you make us informed of the thing.
WHEN & IF!!!
please.

There is a difference. You are leasing VISTA. You do not buy a license. Which gives microsoft the power to disable everything in your computer when you connect with windows update or other services.King of Snake wrote:AFAIK, you do not OWN any piece of software on your computer anyway (unless it's something you've written yourself). why is this question put up again and again while no official announcement on the SC site is available to confirm or deny the availability of vista drivers?djsainz wrote:Why everytime a "vista" question is asked it always degenarates into a OS debate, all I wanted to know if there was any news about the drivers.
this forum is not the official voice of SC. if it's not on their website, or if you don't know it from SC by email, it is just not there.

Because there are people on these forums that may have close ties, or leaked information, its a fact of the internet. Also there a people that have influence on these forums and may have contacts via email to some developers. Companies will try to never commit themselfs into publishing information on their official site just incase there are drawbacks or unforseen difuculties that may discreted the company and incite their userbase.kylie wrote:why is this question put up again and again while no official announcement on the SC site is available to confirm or deny the availability of vista drivers?djsainz wrote:Why everytime a "vista" question is asked it always degenarates into a OS debate, all I wanted to know if there was any news about the drivers.
