USB Faders

I recently bought an MRC ( Lexicon ) MIDI controller for an ancient Reverb for it's 4 faders and small size. It works great but it is a somewhat rare item, as I haven't seen one since.

Are there any other small USB sized fader boxes that would fir on the open left side of a large controller.

6 x 8, 8 x 10, something of that nature.

The Lexicon MRC is perfect as it also serves as a filter, and has dual I/O's.

It works well and also accepts the LCD upgrade for a really bright small LCD.

I need a couple of these little babies, or anything that comes close.

Faderfox has a few options, two of which have 6 faders each (LC2 and LV2). They are NOT usb but rather midi, however you can daisy chain them for multple units and they're very compact (roughly 7"x4"x2.75"). They also seem pretty well built for what they are (plastic).

JL Cooper has several units that would work, the 8-fader FaderMaster Pro (12.25” x 6.75” x 1.5”), and the MCS3000X and MCS3000 XL but I don't know how easy these are to edit or how their build is although they look decent. Note also that the last 2 are motorized faders, which you may or may not like. Looks like most or all come in either usb or midi versions (or serial but that's only useful for video apps etc).

M-audio (formerly evolution) UC33e USB Controller is of 'ok' build and supports usb and custom editable programs for its faders and buttons. 13” x 8.4” x 3”

Then of course there's the venerable but built-like-a-tank Peavey PC 1600x, but that's not in production anymore so you'd have to pick one up on ebay etc. And of couse no usb there either.

Those are without display, but the fader version can emulate a mackie control (hello wolf!!!) and there's a little program which emulates the display. I like them! And they are cheap and easy to program...

I have used JL Coopers stuff for MIDI lights for years, I can't believe they still make great niche products.

I will probably get the Fader fox 2.

It is a good surface w/ Scope though, just overkill for a simple lower manual drawbar emulation.

Every controller you see has drawbars these days, but they are always misplaced on the right side.A slight oversight, but I still have a need for properly placing the faders on the left side.I always used drawbar movements for the upper manual solo style of playing. Not the lower manual. The lower was used for comps and backing leads.

Brotha' Man Janni, I bought some MIDI Solutions hardware thanks to your great tip there.

They have a solution for every type of scemario imaginable/

I have searches on ebay for the MRC and the pocket fader/

It will be an added luxury, I just have to wait.
