Post by faxinadu »

hey,

just a thought -

maybe it would be nice to seperate the devices section into plugins and modular modules? really crazy to find things in there these days.

cheers

+1

I would even split into further sections like effect devices, synth devices, midi gimmicks etc.
I have mentioned this already in the past.

It would be even better to add some sort of database and when you upload your device you couls decide which category it is, for example ->effect->reverb.

And a user could find all free reverbs easily by using a masked search.

ya hifi but that would require some phpbb mod, as far as i know.... to make just another forum section or two is quick. don't know how much time admins have for this place and such, of course if there is time and will then sure your suggestion would rock!

I divided my modular folders into subfolders - stock, downloaded, self-created patches. No problem, my routing window shows this correctly.

Hey guys, why don't we agree on a tagging system to use in the post title, at least for now? I can see a mod devices forum being created, but I think beyond that (mod2/mod3/flexor etc) I can see tagging working ok there. What I mean is something similar to:

(Mod2) = Mod2 only (no 3 modules)
(Mod23) = Requires Mod2 &3
(FleX2) = Uses Flexor2
(FleX3) = Uses Flexor 3
(BB2) = Uses SpaceF's BlackBox2
...etc

So a nice filterbank patch from a diehard modular fan might have the topic:
(Mod23) (Flex3) (BB2) Juicebox Filterbank

Only suggestions but this works very well on maillists and other forums I'm privy to frequenting. My first inclination was to use the [ ] brackets as well but that might break under future revisions of bbcode.

One of the things that messes up the modular module side of things is that lots of modules have been developed over the years & basically posted all over the place instead of in the device section here on PlanetZ (creations by Alfonso & Fra77x for example). There's new modular modules posted in both the modular patches forum & modular discussion forum. It just adds to the disorganisation. Thankfully, Ben Walker & Roy Thinnes both have websites where you can browse 3rd party module creations.
