Two questions

Post by synthetic88 »

1. Any suggestions for good-sounding but low-DSP using Mixers? I only need a few inputs, two stereo ins would be plenty most of the time (for Bidule/ASIO and Solaris).

2. Any must-have free synth devices I need to check out?

Thanks.

If I try loading Micromixer or Dynamic Mixer, I get this error message.

STM1632 seems to work, but it's overkill for me. I can try the mixer someone linked to, but I'm not sure what to do with "mdl" files.

the "cant' find dsp file" error is an installer error. most likely the file is marked "read only" and unchecking "read only" should fix it. if not, delete the file and manually copy/paste it from the install files. if it's not where it should be, and the message is truly literal(unlikely), then copy/paste the file from the install files.

if you do a search on "can't find dsp file", you'll see the standard solutions. you can even remove the dsp file to the desktop(to save it as backup in the case of optional or 3rd party plugins that have special dsp files that might not be in the installer files) and copy/paste the dsp folder from the install files.

i don't know why this error happens, but it seems to happen mostly with the downloaded version, installed from a cd. i've never had a problem with the downloaded version installed off the desktop or with the factory cd version. perhaps it's a trick between the installer and xp.

if i am not wrong the .mdl are like the .dev files. You just have to copy/paste this file into a device file (plugin or synth etc ... the files that appear in the rooting window) that are created during scope installation..

yes,and you can also add folders to the device folder if you need to customize your list.

-note-changes won't be visible until restarting scope.

Try the attached (and zipped) batchfile and see if it solves your problems.
