SpaceF's CC8 And JB's Solaris

Post by dawman »

I have been experimenting with CW's ability to control external synths w/ MIDI. The Lexicons are loaded with parameters and Mehdi's CC8, and CC5 can be used externally on these and the MIDI'd SE-1x hardware analog synth.

This could also be applied to John Bowens Solaris I hope. That would be completely astounding.

Whadya think John?

You are asking about having the Solaris send out Midi CCs with the knobs and switches, etc.? I'm guessing it's possible, of course - but it's not at the top of our list, let's just say.

Because of the large number of parameters, the basic Editor will have to use NRPN (Non-Registered Parameter Number) MIDI messages. We could do something like Dave Smith does, where you have a basic set of CC numbers covered by the front panel knobs, and/or you use the NRPN messages, with a switch to select this in a Global page. But these are assigned internally by the factory - the user can't decide which controller number will be on each knob, etc., which is more of what I think you are wanting here.

Something for future discussion, for sure!
Cheers,
John B.
