Dual core considerations

Post by sunset070 »

I think that dual core sistem have one big limitations, the mathematic coprocessor,in fact the dual core cpu have always only one math coprocessor and some native software use this for works,I belive that dual processor is the best solution for have two processor also dualcore bat 2 math coprocessor, only in this way i belive to have big increments of software like Vsti loaded in your machine.
any comments on this consideration?

best regards Daniele from Italy

just forget about it, it doesn't matter at all ;)
the floating point co-processor is avoided whenever possible anyway.

98% of all VSTIs are more or less crap anyway (20 good ones per thousand seems a reasonable rate) and far from being capable of task optimizing according to the CPU found in the machine.
CoreDuos are fast and cheap, but still rather unefficient in processing real-time stream data. You just don't notice, because they are so fast

cheers, Tom
