Scope wont open

Post by pesha »

Scope won't open as it says other Creamware applications are running

I used to have the Scope icon in far right at bottom of screen and right click and it showed close and I closed it. But now it doesn't show up there.

I have tried to drag and drop it from the desk top and also from the start menu there but it won't go.
Thank you

Hi
Thank you for your reply
1. How do I get the icon back into the bottom right corner
2. what does DAW mean
3. How do I find what is running in the background?
4. The fact that closing scope from the icon suggests that it is scope itself which is running in the background. So how do I close it? I have been to task manager the general page doesnt show anything running at all.
Thank you again

Hi
Thak you for taking the trouble to reply.
When I double click all I get is the message "please close all creamware applications before starting Scope fusion platform" and in the task bar it says "cannot start scope". When I have had this in the past I have found an icon in the bottom right of screen where Skype etc. lurk. The place where there is an arrow which if you press shows hidden icons. I have right clicked there and it has had the option "close" I have clicked that and then gone back and clicked on the icon on the desktop and scope has opened ok. But the scope icon is no longer there.. If I drag scope to the task bar it shows loads of options but no "close" option.
I hope you can help me further
Thank you

Hi
I don't know how to find out which application is running. When I look in the taskbar it doesn't show anything as running.
However in the past I have found that if I closed Scope by right clicking the icon in the extreme right corner of the screen then I could click on the desk top and Scope would open ok. So how do I stop Scope running in the background as that seems to be the applicaion.
Thank you everyone for your help so far. I hope you can help a damsel in distress.
Best wishes

keep on going Pesha, you'll get it sorted, those guys eat computers :-)
you remember I'm on mac and by nature scared to death of those system-handling problems, so I can't help you.
but the card is worth the effort, it's really the poor-mans Protools.
And once it's running, it is extremely stable, believe me/us.
your troubles are related to system handling and system-audiocard understanding, so you have to go through it anyway.

Just read an interview with Junkie XL/Tom Holkenborg, he uses two macs, one with Protools and one with Logic, plus four to six pc's dedicated to one specialised task, one for the Native Instruments plugs, others for a synth or sampler, all sinced by Midi Machine Controll MMC...

Meaning: a DAW isn't a washing machine, it can be hard for everyone, the big boys who can afford it even counter this by just chaining dedicated DAW's to avoid conflicts and comp. performing limitations.

the scope icon in the lower right hand corner will give you the hide/show option(right or left click). scope's not running in the backround as much as it's hidden. when you "show" it, you can see it on the taskbar like your other programs.

windows has a function to hide icons that you haven't clicked on for a while. likely thats where the icon in the corner went. click on the double arrows there and it should reappear.......

where are you located? i could help you by phone, possibly......

HI
I did two things
1. I right clicked on the extreme right and went into properties and task barhen customize and then to scope and clicked on show always. I then closed down for the night. On opening up this morning ...
2. I double clicked on the arrow as suggested above and FANTASTIC it showed the little Scope icon and I was abovle to close it and NOW Scope will open from the desk top
Thank you everyone who has helped me through yet another steep learning curve
