Hi
I've bought a Creamware Pulsar 2 plus board, in 2001.The salesman recommends me plug it into a PC with an ASUS CUSL2, AGP PRO/4x. motherboard.
I did it and everything was OK.
But now, I Update my pc and I've bought
MOTHERBOARD: ASUS M2N-E
Processor: AMD Athlon 64X2 Dual core processor 3800+
RAM: Gskill (4gb) (3,5gb in use)
Video: Nvidia Ge Force 7600GS
Windows Original XP SP2
Nuendo 3 original
scope 4.5
the problem is that while run scope, Windows xp tilt ..really, this become in freezee state and only option is restart in manual mode.
I´ve tried with windows xp sp1
Updated the bios
test the memory
reinstalling xp
reinstalling scope v4.0 & v4.5
with others secuencers like CUBASE SX 2.0
Installing amd drivers (processor)
patch for amd
...................................and never has ran correctly
Please Im from Argentina (spanish) im sorry for my beginner eng.

el problema occure solo cuando abres Scope ? (por ejemplo con Windows Media Player que pasa si no abres nuendo?) Yo probaria Nuendo con la tarjeta de sonido incluida en la carta madre... Solo tienes que cambiar el asio en Nuendo.
Hum, well let's speak english (or french ?) as i have spent all my vocabulary... Just avoid Scope to find out if it is a PC instability (your RAM could take the blame too as there can be compatibility issues...) or if Scope takes the blame.

Thank you Jo !!
Hasta ahora siempre se ha freezado usando: (ever freeze when I used)
1- Scope+Windows Media Player or Winamp :Some times (freeze random)
2- Scope+Nuendo :A lot of times (vst performance 20%) for example
3- Nuendo+Asio driver: without Scope it`s ok but I can´t listen audio (I´ve disable or desactivate the on-board soundcard from bios setup, for that it not cause conflicts whit Pulsar.)
The same Pulsar 2 was teste with my older pc with an ASUS CUSL2 and everything was ok.
The RAM memory was teste and they are compatibilty. and too I tried with only 2gb and they are compatibilty but when I run Scope this random freeze.
Are compatibilities ASUS M2N-E + amd dual core 3800 with Pulsar 2??
Thank You !!! Jo!!
Mil Gracias!!! Guido

I think there are problems with dualcore amd processors.
Try disableing one core...
Maybe Shayne has more on it.
Cheers

the probelm with amd processors are the chipsets that run the motherboards. add to this the fact that the intel chip is the benchmark around which the os is created. there's a reason that apple is using them
yours should work, though.
first, what is your card sharing an irq with?
second, does your problem only exist when midi is connected to the card?

Thanks Garyb!!
1) There is only one device in IRQ 17
2) I didn´t , the problem exist with and without MIDI (Korg X5) anyway I´ve inserted a MIDI FILTER (Filtering active sensing)

ok, then...
the last trick i know is trying the 3.1b driver.
if you do a search, it's available on this site. if you don't find it, i'll upload it later....

Is doing active sensing filtering in Scope as effective as doing it externally?

by garyb
no, external is much better....

while watching your jpg i find strange to see a bigMixer v2 which is no longer part of SW;
maybe it has a reason why?
if its realy a bigmixer V2 you can try to change to a uptodate mixer!
maybe it helps;
good luck

I´ll try with the mixer STM 1632 or Control Room but I don´t belive that the problem happen with this...but I´ll try too.
Thanks! tgstgs
