Installing SFP Software VST Instrument Paths

Post by fraz »

Hi,

When installing the SFP software there is a box that the user specifies the path to the VST instruments folder by using the browse button. There are actually two long horizontal spaces providing the option for two different directory paths to be inserted.

Now out of curiosity and a desire to dot the i's and cross the t's I ask - Are these two options to have two separate directory paths to two separate VST pugins folders on your system the only reason why there is two and not just one???? during the installation of SFP software. Hope I have explained this well enough to make sense... :)

One of these paths does not have anything to do with the install of XTC mode does it???

I did have XTC installed a while ago but I decided against it for reasons that I won't go into in this post.

I've just been thinking about this and wasn't sure if one path was for your primary VST plugins folder and the other path was used for using the Creamware cards in XTC mode without actually running the SFP software.

the software can install to two different locations just in case there's an applicarion that wants it's own directory. disable the second(or both if you wish. if you don't use xtc mode, it doesn't matter).
